I have been trying to help a friend troubleshoot a cold start hesitation on his

2000 Tahoe, he has a Haynes manual that covers 99-03 but the haynes shows

a cable to the throttle body and the friend's Tahoe has a motor driven throttle

body. What gives?

99-02 was cable driven. I am guessing your friend has an '03-'05 Tahoe, which is drive by wire (motor driven TB).

The motor driven throttle bodies (drive by wire) were used in the a few 2000 trucks/SUV's, more 2001 and even more in 2002. In 2003 they became standard in most all the trucks and SUV's.

So yes, it could have DBW!

Thanks to all who replied, I guess its time to find another manual before

we can go any further on troubleshooting, tried cleaning the egr but no

help.

Thanks Dave B.
