Refresh my memory please.. 2003 Radio removal

Well my last Tahoe was an 01, and I know the fuel chime and stuff did not come through the radio.

 

I have an 03 LS w/ the Bose 6disc unit, and want to put all my good olde stereo stuff in it.

 

What do I need to do, do i need to leave the old raido in there, and hookled up? ( I remember that being an issue on some.) Or is there a better wire harness now?

 

P.s. no Onstar.

I just talked with Crutchfield about putting a Pioneer in my 03 and they have a harness that will keep all your chimes working, $40 with a purchase and $75 I believe he said buying just the harness.

you dont happen to know the part # do you? There are so may out there..and then I read some you need an extra part for the chimes etc..

But I know they are diff ones. B/c my 2001 Tahoe did not have the chimes and radion intergraded like the 03 does.

You could try JP Customs website. They have a lot of the PAC Audio converter items on there with pretty good descriptions. Bose, no Bose, On-Star, no On-Star, yada yada.... I think they have a link on the left side of the screen. Good LucK!
