Power Window

[Steverado 99]

Hey all,

 

Had some issues with my driver side window a while back, replaced the regulator and it has been fine for 2 or so months. Today I cannot get the window down but passenger side works fine. Sometimes when I press down on the button there

is a clicking noise but it doesn't always happen.

 

Anything I should/can check?

 

From my manual I can see there is a window fuse but it seems to be for both power windows unless I am mistaken. Perhaps the whole switch itself is bad. I am going to see if there is someone at school with the same 99 Silverado truck so I can try his door switch in mine.

I would first check to see if there is power coming from the switch when you push it, if so, check the motor again.

Yea, check for power and ground to the motor in both directions (up and down). If it's not there, could be the switch or wiring, if you do have pwr and grnd, the motor's shot.

Thanks for your responses.

 

I took both your suggestions and tested the power connection at the window motor. I verified that the motor is recieving power and I tested the connection on another motor and it worked fine. #^%* power windows!

 

I am emailing the vendor I bought it from (ebay) and will wait to see what they can do. I might try dropping by the auto glass place where it was installed and maybe have them look at it.

sometimes the main culprit for that problem is the control module. i should know coz i've done a bit of work for that on my truck and i've just had a recent window regulator installed.
