Hey eshoremd-

I saw your post and am one of the...now 40 something people that have looked at it but not responded. I'm sure some of the really knowledgeable folks will chime in soon. I, unfortunately, am not one of those guys!!!

Make sure your bat. terminals are clean & greased. Hook up the pos. first and then hook up the neg. with one quick attachment holding it on and tightning it. If its not done in one motion you can set codes. Also the fact that the truck didnt want to start is an indication of resistance between the connections. Make sure you fully charge the battery with a variable rate charger to make sure its fully charged. An altenator cannot fully charge a battery only about 80-85% but it can maintain it fully charged.
