electric inverter

Question

I have a 2004 GMC sierra 1500 with the Texas Ranch conversion package. I have been looking at power inverters in the 2000 watt range. I read about the new hybrid GM truck and had an idea. Could the generator portion of the system be installed (without the electric motor) to take advantage of the abundant supply of household AC int the hybrid truck? The review I read on the hybrid truck didn't praise the truck for performance or economy but only on the convienence of making AC power.

Forget it. That system is so integrated into the truck with control modules, battery packs, etc., etc., there is no way on earth you could put part of it in your truck.

The generator/starter is actually incorporated where a flywheel would normally go(real weird starting one when there's no starter sound) which keeps the battery system charged and is used to start the engine and provides power to the battery pack while the engine is running when the AC outlets are in use.

Like I said, forget it. If you want this system that bad, buy a hybrid because you'd probably spend 10 times more trying to make your truck into one.
