Gear Oil

Changing the front and rear differential gear oil in my 2001 Yukon 4wd. I plan to refill the differentials with Amsoil 75w-90 gear oil. I knew that the rear differential called for 75w-90, but I see now that the front calls for 80w-90.

Is it safe to use the 75w-90 in front differential as well?

Yeah, it's fine. I have been running the Amsoil 75W90 in both front and back on my truck. I've had no problems and I sent Amsoil an e-mail asking that very question before I made the switch about 40,000 miles ago and they said that it would be fine. I saved that e-mail just in case but it's been a while now and when I've changed the gear oil the magnet on the bolt has had less and less metal fuzz on it.
