2002 Envoy Instrument Panel

I have a 2002 Envoy. Yesterday, the instrument cluster started going crazy when the vehicle is driven. Idiot lights will flash on and off at random times. Gauges will go from normal to non-functional and then back to normal. Anyone out there have any experience with this and can give me some advice as to what to look for?

my 01 Sonoma does this as well occasionally. it seems to be happening more frequently recently.

 

sometimes most of the gauges go dead, other times, just a couple of them go dead. and warning lights everywhere tun on, then a couple of seconds later, everything is fine again

 

it doesnt seem to coincide with hitting bumps in the road, just seems to happen at random for no obvious reason.

 

anybody familiar with this problem, or what the fix is?

I was thinking that there was a recall on 2002's for that. Look into it.

 

I am having problems with my instrument panel as well. It won't light up. Odometer and radio have lights and dim with the dimmer but nothing on my instrument panel, or heat, rear controls. Fuses are fine. Any ideas?

Yes, our `02 TB did the same. New ignition switch from the dealer, under warranty.

Also had the same thing done, the switch is tied in with the BCM and will screw up alot of electric stuff.
