i have a 2000 ECSB 5.3 Z71 w/ 101,xxx miles. It has not had any problems until this morning. I tried to start it but it wouldn't crank, or even make a clicking noise whatsoever(lights and radio all worked fine). Tried to jump the battery, nothing. So i called a tow truck and was going to have it towed. For the heck of it I turned the key before he came and the d**n thing started like nothing was wrong!! I'm going to bring it to the chevy dealer where I bought it from to have them check it out on Monday. Anyone have a possible explination to what it may have been? Fuel pump, starter solenoidwou, electical? Thanks GM tech.

Well, if the starter didn't even click, it's certainly not fuel pump. The engine has to turn over before one could even think about a fuel problem problem.

Definitely electrical but what, I couldnt' say for sure. It's going to have to occur for the dealer to be able to diagnose it unless something is practically falling off of it.

It hasn't happened again, but a friend of mine said he has the same thing happen to his truck 97ish V6. It has happened to him more than twice that I know of but he hasn't brought it in to be checked out so who knows. Electrical problems aren't fun!! Is there anyway you could show me a service history of this truck? VIN 2GCEK19T7Y1405758. Thanks for all of your effort to this site. Cory

Do not pay attention to "my truck did the same thing" on a vehicle that's not identical to yours. Even if it is identical, I would ignore any such statements. It means nothing in most cases.

As for your warranty history. Amazing... the vehicle has not had a single warranty repair. zero. nada.

You do have an open recall on the tailgate cables though, so you want to get that taken care of.

Thanks alot. I did get the tailgate cable recall notice in the mail a couple of weeks ago. Who knows how long ago they sent it because the mail is soooo behind down here. Thanks again. Cory
