DIC message indicating check fuel cap...

So this morning on my way to work, my DIC indicated for me to check my fuel cap, or tighten it...or something along those lines. Anyways, when I arrived at work, sure enough it was loose so I re-installled it and went on with my day.

When I left from work, I noticed my CEL was now on. Not flashing just on solid. I read in the manual that it will likely be on for a few trips and shud clear itself. My fear is having to take it to a dealer to get the code cleared and them flash my PCM....as I have a Westers tune.

For those who have ever had this code, how long did it take to clear, and is their anyway to clear it myself...ie pull a battery cable?

I tried a search, but my browser just hung...so I'll post this in the meantime.

Thx for any advice

I believe it takes 3 complete error free cycles of ...cold engine...up to operating temp...cooled to cold. 3 times and the light goes off. Or, unplug your battery for 10 minutes. It will stall upon restart as it relearns how to run. It will also forget any adaptive learning in the drivetrain. No big deal whichever method you choose.
