Instrument Cluster removal + bulbs

Is there a special way to remove the connector from the rear of the instrument cluster? I tried to remove it but could not and I didn't want to force it. Also, when I removed the bulbs they were clear, so how do the gauges get their green color? Is it possible to just replace the clear bulbs with colored ones and change the color of the cluster that way? Any help would be appreciated.

Don't know about the color of the bulbs but on my 99'silverado the harness was pretty tight, I had to put a fair amount of pressure and wiggle it around and it came loose, it doesn't help that there isn't alot to grab on to, just keep working on it and it will come off. Hope this helps

The face of the guages is colored, where the numbers and stuff are. they are what act like a lens and determine what color comes thru. to change the color would require the guage faces to be changed. you can buy aftermarket faces for round 70-100 and get all sorts of styles and logos.
