I am looking to find what others are getting for fuel mileage with their dually, duramax w/ the allison transmission. In particular, the '03' models. Thanks for your help.

The old man gets around 18.7. That was an everage he got after letting the DIC run for about 4 months. I believe he got 21 while pulling and empty enclosed to St. Louis one time, prolly with the wind pushin a little. BTW he has and Edge system on him Dmax.

I have an 03 XC 2WD, no drive train mods. (Has a bed cover which I think helps a bit with MPG)

Normal daily use (mix town/freeway) it gets 17-18 MPG.

Over the road it gets 21-23 MPG.

Pulling 12,500# high profile 5th wheel over the road it gets 10-13 depending on wind, etc.

I generally drive for MPG, trying to keep in the 1900rpm "sweet spot" which translates to about 63mph.

(Oooppps --- just saw the word "dually" in your query, so my example isn't valid for you.)

The Edge programmer will get you better gas mileage and also increase the horsepower and torque while towing.

I have heard up to 3 miles to the gallon better.
