Engine RPMs stay up too long

Hi,

I have a minor problem(I Hope) and I'll just throw it out here see if anyone can help.

I just bought a 1996 GMC Sierra 1500 2wd with a five speed and the vortec 5.0. I love the truck ,but I've noticed that when I'm shifting as I let off of the throttle the engine RPMs will stay up for as long as 3 to 4 seconds. I especially notice it when I pull up to a traffic signal with the clutch in , the RPMs wont drop for a few moments.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance :banghead:
