What's the main difference in the LQ4 and LQ9 engines? Octane? Does LQ9 require higher octane fuel?

Compression Ratio.

The LQ4 is 9.4:1

The LQ9 is 10.0:1

Premium fuel (92 octane or higher) is recommended with the LQ9.

Thanks! My neighbor has an Escalade ESV. He asked me if I put 93 octane on my XL denali. I said, no, just regular 87 is fine. He said his ESV needs 93 octane.
