Make the Avalanche Even Better!!!

I have a blue 2500Avalanche that I love. The 496 gets 12-14 MPG's around town, not very good but great for a big truck with 350h/p and 455 pounds of torque! I have used my truck to move just about everything. I replaced the stock 245's, tightned up the torsion bars to raise the front end to be level and put on some heavy duty 265's. The midgate is awsome and no, there hasn't been any rattles or problems at all! It's easy to see why it's Motor Trend's Truck of the Year.

I love my truck but I'm still not used to the plastic. Does anybody have any info on how it can be painted???? The Cadillac Escalade EXT's panels will work for the sides and the rear but they won't fit the different front clip. I know somebody knows something because there were four or five avalanches at SEMA that had the plastic painted. I'm also guessing it would be the same for anyone who has painted the plastic bumpers on a PT Cruiser or Prowler.

Don't get me wrong, the plastic is a great idea. It dosen't scratch or ding and for the first time in my life I'm not scared to park next to other vehicles. I had to replace one of the panels when a F250 slide into me during a snow storm. He hit my left side from behind, he tore his mirror off on the plastic on the roll cage and ruined his bumper while tearing off one of my panels. I went to the dealership and orderd the new panel for $25, yes 25 dollars! In 30 seconds I snapped it back on and it looked as good as new! I wonder how much the guy in the F250 spent?

Email me if you have any info, [email protected]!!!

Thanks!!

Welcome to the forum B$.

We were just having a few discussions about painting the cladding in the light duty section.

My dealer in Mercer PA painted the cladding on the first 2500 Av he got in.  I didn't see the finished product, but I did see the Av "naked" (cladding removed).
