06 silverado pcm removal

im taking out my stock pcm tommow to send it to wait for me on monday , where is it located , what does it look like , what tools do i need to remove it . i herd in a similar fourm topic about this , that to dissconect the negative battery cable , is it that wiring harness lookin thing close to the end of the negative cable or not. a picture would help , thanks for all ur help

Disconnect your battery cable first. Now, look down, to the left of the battery. The PCM is underneath the black shroud that has the two large wire looms coming out of it. That shroud comes off fairly easy. The PCM will then come loose after you unclip the fastener at the top. You'll need an 8mm socket to loosen the bolt on each plug, there are two plugs that go into the PCM. Don't worry about marking the plugs, the plugs can only go in one place.

im sure this is it , it have the two wire looms with the 8 mm bolts holding it to the pcm underneath the black shourd to the left of the battery

its the big aluminum thing behind the shourd right , stupid question but just wanted to make sure

Mine is just a black plastic shroud, not aluminum. Take a pic of what you are talking about and send it to me. [email protected]
