K&N FIPK GEN2 Intake Installation Question

Hey all,

I was reading the installation instructions for the K&N FIPK GEN2 intake and it said that for my engine (4.8L) you may have to cut down or modify the fan shroud because the intake tube runs into it and does not fit. HAve any of you fellow Silverado/Sierra owners who have done this modificiation had to cut the fan shroud? Thanks

Yeah, I had to trim the fan shroud a little bit. With the proper blade, it cut very easily.

Airaid makes an intake tube that fits without having to cut the shroud. I originally bought the K&N setup and didn't want to cut the shroud so I took it back and got the Airaid.
