Dream Truck

Allright when i win the lottery someday (yeah right) i have thought of my dream "custom" truck. the description is as follows:

1986 K2500 Crew Cab short box srw(rare!!)

slight lift

victory red

Heres the kicker: Duramax diesel-allison trans!!!!!!

I can only imagine the mods it would take to put the duramax in a 20 year old truck but it todays world it seems anything can be done with the right amount of money!!! I think this one would be a good one for a tv show like overhaulin or somethin like that!! who knows this may already out there!!

what i wonder most, besides the electronics aspect is if you would have to throw the new interior in there too due to spedo cluster, etc.??

well if anyone has anyone has any imput, comments on this let me know!!!!

Didn't "Extreme 4x4" put a Dmax/Allison in a mid '80s suburban a few weekends ago?

My dad still has his 1984 K30 crew cab long bed SRW. Dealership couldn't get rid of it back then. It's sticker price was $21,000 and dad got it for $14,000. It sat on their lot for just over a year.

they put a DMax alli combo in the suburban gorrilla project truck along with a Banks twin turbo system.

I have seen mid 80's K30's, crew cab long beds once in a while on e-bay or some place like that, but I do recall one having the Cummins Diesel with a manual tranny. It looked really nice, but he did want new money for it.

Anything is possible, how much are you willing to spend?? That is the question!

they put ls1 engines and turbocharges systems in those trucks, so a 6.6l would fit, the allison however will not fit, but a 4l80E does. but is the belhousing the same?

imagine 450hp and awd and that torque, you'll be in the 12's in the 1/4 mile

I know someone with an older NBS Silverado (2003 maybe?) with the D/A in it. Crew Cab, short bed, 4x4, and he has it into the 12's.

If you did the same to an S-10 you should be able to go 11's.
