Rear Axle / Transmission Slipping?

Hi guys , I was hoping someone could help out. I have a 03 2500hd 6.0 4x4 with 4.10 gears and the linited slip diff. My question is this, sometimes when I start from a stop the rear end feels like it is stuttering / the transmission seems to slip into the gear. A few times it would start moving slowly and then I would feel a bang and it would take off. Dealer says it is normal operation for the diff. But this just doesn't seem right. This happens on takeoff from dry,paved roads and I'm going straight not turning.

 

Any help or ideas would be appreciated. This is a great site. I have learned alot about my truck that I probably would never have known.

There is nothing that can slip in rear axle. (the GovLoc LSD might chatter in turns if it is difective) Your problem sound like a binding slip york on rear output shaft of Tcase. GM has had issies with them in the past. (It can cause it to bind up driveline at times) Check this first.

My son has the same truck and had the same problem. He changed the oil in the differential and replace it with Mobil 1, which cured the problem.
