Who's using K&N Air filters in their Classic?

Just put one in mine ('95 C1500, 302ci w/77k). Also removed the goofy air trap (the plastic box that sits between the air cleaner & right fender wall) to increase air flow to the tbi - should have done that long ago...

I already see better acceleration & mpg's...

Ive got a 94 k1500 350 and did the same thing, Im guessing you also removed the acordian hose as well, that cant be to good for air flow. I have noticed a increase in miladge and power. Im doing research so I can try to fabricate a cold air intake and remove all the old setup.

Hey Jack...

Yeah - the hose went too.., still sitting in the back of the truck... Was going to pull the pre-heater flexhose too.., but wasn't sure if that would be such a good idea.

If you do come up with a cold air intake solution.., please post it. I'd like to see what you find.

Thanks!

Hey Steve:

I'll post it if I can fabricate one. Im not sure if a cowl induction hood would be better then the cold air intake, I would worry about sucking in rain or snow, but I think the air coming in would be cooler and freasher.

The preheater hose shouldnt need to come off, the bypass trap door should only open if its cold, during summer conditions it should be closed not letting warm air up it. I flipped the lid on my air cleaner and tightened it down when I removed the other stuff, sounds cool, not sure much it helped anything. I just check my air cleaner more often.

Hey folks,

I once read a website that a guy had about his formula 350, wherein he fabricat4ed a ram air system using heating ductwork. might be worth a thought on the fipk.
