anti lock brake problem?

Hi. Last week I think I had a problem with my brakes. It was raining heavily, and I might have hit a puddle and hydroplaned a bit. At about that time I noticed that the brake pedal seemed to actually get higher. I am a two footed driver and my left foot usually is an eigth of an inch above the prake pedal. I believe the pedal came up and hit my foot. At that time I applied the brakes to slow down a bit and the pedal felt very high. I had no problem braking, and the system continues to work properly. Any idea if the pedal could actually rise a bit, and if so, what would cause it?

I also have a recall for the anti lock having an issue at slow speeds, but have not had any issues with it. I will get it in to the dealer for the recall when I have time (too busy lately).

Thanks

Couple years back my father had an issue with his 01 suburban anti-lock. The abs would kick in when it shouldn't have and would increase the amount of time it took to come to a complete stop. We almost had a couple of accidents. The problem was a sensor that kept getting dirty and screwing the abs computer. The dealership finally fixed it after 4 visits. They just up and replaced the sensors on the front end and did something (don't know what) to prortect them from getting dirty again. Hasn't had a problem since.

Hope this helps.

There was no stopping issue, actually the brake pedal was higher (and more solid?) than normal, I just have no clue what caused it.

I am just winging it now. Sounds like it could be a fluid issue. Could have an air bubble in the brake lines or a regulator out of whack. You may want to have a brake job done. That would be my guess, but I am not a mechanic.
