Any opinions on Skyjacker or Superlift 3" lifts?

Would like to know if anyone has experience or knowledge about either of these lifts, and if there are any differences to consider, or if there are other brands to consider with a similar amount of lift. I'd like to maintain a ride that's close to stock and minimizes impact on drivetrain components.

I read the instructions on both kits and if I was going to buy one, it would be the skyjacker. The superlift is an all bracket drop style. You have to do a lot of cutting to make it work, including the tranny crossmember. The plus to that kit though are it doesn't increase the front wheel track and you can use the stock wheels. The Skyjacker is a spindle style and it seems a lot easier to install, you only have to make one cut to a crossmember, which shouldn't be to hard to reverse if you wanted to. The bad sides to the Skyjacker are I don't think you can use stock wheels with a larger tire and it increases the front wheel track. Also, it offsets the front diff. about an inch requiring a larger CV spacing on one side then the other. From talking with other people with skyjackers, the larger spacer on one side puts more load on the diff bearing, shortening their life.

Have you looked at the new Rough Country EX series lifts? It's a spindle style, but it's 100% bolt on, no cutting. They make a 4" kit.

If you are looking for minimal impact on your drivetrain and just want the height why not get a 3" Body Lift? Perfomance Accessories has a kit that includes everyhting you need and it's only $500. I did the body lift and new rims and tires for the same price as just a suspension lift. In my opinion if you are going for just 3-4" I'd go with a BL. Here's mine with a 3" BL, 16x8's and 305/70/16 BFG's. I drive mine 100mi every day and I wanted the height w/o the impact on the suspension and ride. This combo works perfect for me and I was able to get a nice set of rims and tires for the extra $$.

Is that an 03 1500 silverado?

I have an 03 2wd 1500 silv. long bed and considering lifting her as well. Have a few questions for ya if you dont mind me asking.

1.Whats involved in doing the body lift on these trucks?

2. Is all you have a 3" body lift and tires, or other mods to get that height?

3. Where'd ya pick up those nice fender flares all around?

4. Does the 3" BL your describing require any mods to drivetrain as far as angles, driveshaft, etc on the 8 foot bed models...
