Steering wheel swap possible?

2 quick questions, both about steering wheels. Can I swap a steering wheel that has audio controls on my 2003 Silverado. Were the trucks built with the wiring already in the steering wheel loom? I have the radio that was XM ready, as the dealer installed one that plugged into the back, and they installed the antenna. Great deal, $399 installed!, Sidetracked, sorry. The second question, my 1993 Silverado steering shaft came back from the dealer with the threads stripped that holds the steering wheel on. Splines were OK. Dealer had replaced turn signal stalk. Dealer told my son (teenager) that shaft was stripped already!! I am in Texas, dealer in Colorado. Truck now in Texas. Cost for repair in Texas, $400. How does Chevrolet take off wheel? Ignition switch replaced 10 years earlier by dealer in Colorado. No loose wheel then. Any thoughts?

No, the wiring is not there. Do a search because this is a topic that has been discussed here in detail many times.

 

As to how "Chevrolet" takes the wheel off... just like anyone else. Remove the nut and use a puller.
