Transmission Problems

I have a '99 Silverado, 5.3L with 70,000 Miles.

2 Different Tranny problems that are both intermittent.

 

1. On moderate to hard acceleration there is a over revving/delayed shift from 2nd to third. It seems to start shifting then gains another 500 or so RPM then completes the shift.

 

2. Every so often when putting in reverse you have to really rev it. The truck moves very slowly then all of a sudden it seems to fully shift and lurches back.

 

It is at the shop right now, they reprogrammed the computer and it is still doing it. They are going to drop the pan and go from there.

Update.

They dropped the pan, no foreign objects in oil.

Nothing unusual on the scan.

Replaced tranny fluid and filter and added some tranny fix additive.

They updated the computer with all the latest and greatest programming.

It is still slipping on 2-3 on a hard acceleration, seems to be shifting a little better otherwise.

The said they would have to have their tranny specialist look at it at a later date if I wanted.

 

They also told me that I had a dirty MAF and that it affects the tranny too. They cleaned it and took out my KN as it was over oiled and contaminated my MAF.
