mswozniak Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 Installing Prodigy Brake Controller. I have the heavy duty harness with the blue and orange wire to the rear bumper but without the infamous round plug. Two questions: 1) where can I find the Orange and Blue wires up front? and/or 2) Where do I plug the controller in under the dash? People claim the 99' has a plug either above the parking brake, the brake pedal arm, or behind the left kick panel, if it's there, where? or do I hard wire it but then I need to find the Blue and Orange wire in that case.
95Sierra2500 Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 It should have a wiring harness already there under the dash. Where I have no idea. You may want to call up a local trailer specialty shop or RV dealer. They would be able to tell you for sure.
redchev1 Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 If it is like My 1999 Suburban the orange wire is in the fuse box under the hood and needs a nut (metric) and a fuse to be used. The blue brake wire should be coiled in the area below the brake booster. I had to drill through the fire wall and find the correct wires off the brake light switch. Not too bad just a little more work than the newer body style.
