Ride Rite Air Support

Does anyone have the ride rite air support to help with towing and leveling out your rig? I'm curious to know what you thought and where you mounted the air compressor and the control in the cab. I'm thinking about installing them for when i tow my boat. I've never bottomed out, but i don't like having rear sag. Thanks all

I have Air Lift Brand air bags inserted into the rear coils on my Yukon XL becasue I use it or towing a 6500lb camper with a 900lb tongue wt.

Eventhough I use an Equal i zer Weight Dist Hitch the Air Lift bags helped a great deal. In fact, I have told many people that it was the best $75.00 I have spent as far as towing.

I did not add the compressor but manually control mine. I run 10 to 12 PSI when not towing and 25 when I am.

If your 06 is a pick up, your set up will be different with the leaf springs but the concept is the same. I think you will be pleased if you do it.

Thanks for the info, i definitely think i'm going to install some before this summer for towing. Where did you end up mounting the valves to add air? Somewhere in the rear bumper i presume? Also, is it extremely noticable when one side has more air than the other?

I mounted my valve in an existing hole in the frame at the very back of the drivers side. It faces downward so it is easy to reach without getting under the truck and it is out of sight. The frame on a Yukon XL is boxed all the way back and on a Pick up it is not. You may have an existing hole and you may not. You should be able to find a convenient place.

The bags are tied together with a T, so your pressure is the same on each. You can certainly hook them up independently but I would not recommend this unless your weight is a great deal more on one side than the other.

Take a look at Air Lift's website, they are a great co. and I have been very satisified with them. I bought mine through a company in TX, I think their name is Southwest Trailer ???

I took a look at the Air Lift's and it looks like the Ride Rite's can hold a little more weight, they claim to at least, and i can get them a little cheaper. They also come independently hooked up so i'd have 2 valves, 1 for each. The air compressors have an option of a T with them holding the same PSI and one control. Or running them independently and having to switches on the control. I'm going to look more into it and see what best fits my application.

Thanks for all your help and insight.
