Easy access to a 12v switched power source?

Well I got my Sirius unit in my truck tonight, but I'm not happy with the way that I had to provide power for the unit. I'm not familiar enough with these trucks to know where a switched power source is located, so I ran a wire from an unused spot in the underhood electrical center (fused of course) to temperarly power the unit until I can find a better power source. Soooo after all that build up, does anybody know where a person with bad eyes and big hands can find a safe switched power source (wire) that I can tap into? TIA!

Do you still have a factory head unit? (Radio)

I have an aftermarket...and i spliced a tap into the red switched wire on the adapter harness to power things in my truck...all i did was add up the wattages. My CB didnt use too much, so it was ok.

Other than that, i'd say run a tap off the fuse block.

The one only thing i ever loved about my old S10...was how it was so customizable. It had a "battery block" on the firewall, with simple bolts/nuts for access. Two were constant 12v, and two were switched (with ignition) 12v. Just crimp a wire loop on your new toys, and screw it to the bolt. I had a CB radio, radar detector, and fog lights hooked up to that thing...it was amazing!

Take the lower dash panel off under the steering wheel. Then look for the wiring harness coming from the ign switch. You may also have to remove the metal knee bracing behind the panel too. You can either tap into the brown wire there, or the pink wire. These should both be thicker wires, about 12-14 guage. Pink is the ign wire, so if you hook it to that, it will come on with the ign. The brown wire is the accesory wire, so if you wire it to that, it will not only come on with the ign, but it will also come on if you turn the key backwards to the ACC position. I think these wires are fused at 40 amps in the underhood fuse box, so they should power pretty much anything short of an amplifier.
