2002 2500hd 6ltr. Piston Slap ?

i have piston slap since around 5000 miles have 50,000 on it now but in the last few month's it's gotten to be a loud knock or banging even after 5+ minute warm up till it warm's up real good. it's not to bad at idle but when you start to drive it that's when it get's loud.

my oil use has increased too i use to use about 3/4 of a quart of oil inbetween oil change's (3000 mile's) now i just put in that much oil in 2000 mile's

There is a new piston and rod assembly to correct this condition for the 6 liter,The first thing you should do is call GM and see if they are willing to help you,you never know!,The 800 # should be in the owners manual,Try this # 1-800-222-1020.
