06 Silverado Exhaust-is It Aluminized Or Stainless Tubing?

I just bought a muffler and exhaust tip to go on my 07 classic and now im wondering if my stock exhaust pipes are stainless? My muffler and tip both are so if the tubing is also I guess I will have to clamp the whole system since I dont have any stainless mig wire. thanks bf

if you leave the stock exhaust alone it will last 10 years

Its stainless.

The factory system will last for years,I know quite a few guys with '96-up trucks that have many miles on them and still have the OE system on,Which is pretty good for this area where they put a lot salt down in the wintertime.

I was under my gramps '96 replacing brake lines this past week and I noticed his exhaust still looked practically new. What a huge improvement over cars of old. It was typical up here (Maine) to replace parts of the exhaust system every 2-3 years.

 

That's also why I'm a huge fan of Magnaflow over Flowmaster because they offer their systems in stainless.
