I was wondering if anyone has put 20 inch rims or larger on there truck specifically 24s. What I was wondering is how bad they change the ride quality?

I am running 24's on my 05 z71 tahoe....I have pirelli 315/35/24's. I went with 315's instead of 305's because it gives u more sidewall and a little more width so u dont get curb damage on the wheel. Ride quality is like this.....Rides WAY smoother then my all terrain tires did...As it should putting a car tire looking tread on instead of all terrain tires....U can however feel the bumps more then with stock tires, it grips corners like a champ though. I'm happy with running 24's....the only thing u have to get used to is that sometimes when there is ruts in the road, it tends to want to steer the truck on it's own because the tires are so wide. It's not bad but sometimes if u let go of the wheel, it'll follow the rut in the road...Overall I am happy with 24's allthough my wife thinks they are too big! Let me know if u have any other questions.

I have put 20" wheels onto my truck. The thing I found different was how it tends to grab the dips/ruts in the road like the above poster mentioned. Overall I didn't feel any difference in ride quality. My tires currently are 285/50/20's with what I call a street tire tread. Since I have finally worn them out I will be swapping to 275/60/20's all terrains this week. Going with the higher sidewalls to add some overall height to my truck and to the all terrains to give it what I call a true truck look.

Have a nice day.

I recently removed the oem 17" cast aluminum Z71 type wheels and 265x70-17 GOODYEAR Wranglers from my 2007 Silverado crew cab LTZ. I replaced them with the optional GM LTZ 20" cast aluminum wheels and 275x55-20 GOODYEAR LS2 tires.

My speedometer is off by less than 1mph. My fuel economy dropped by less than .5mpg and the ride isn't as cushy. I like the looks a lot better. They seem to fill out the massive wheel well openings better.
