I'd have to go with a 1987 K20 reg. cab with frame off resto, all factory correct except for an 8.1L, turbo 400, and 4.56 gears. Allison 1000 would be nice, but the mod's would get heavy..

 

That would be a bad truck!! And it would get about 7mpg. yeah...

I would have to go with an 06 Crew Cab LT3 Chevy body with an 5.9 Cummins mated with a six speed allison. 3.73 rear end and I would be in heaven.

Id have to go with a 08 F350 Body, Crew Cab, Long bed, SRW, frame, interior, duramax LBZ, Allison 1000, standard ford manual transfer case, standard 3.73 rear axle, of course modded to the fullest extent besides that, but too bad its only a dream...

Well, I am pretty much driving my dream truck. Lucky I guess.

 

Second place would be complete resto of my 1972 K20 4x4. All aluminum big block with six speed manual tranny backing it up. Love the stealth approach...stock looking from outside, fire breathing dragon under the hood!

Mine would be an 02' 3500 reg. cab, with the ZF6 (6 speed manual) and a duramax built to about 750 hp. Plus it would have a straight axle conversion and a 6 in. lift wit some huge tires... to bad its only a dream

For me it would have to be a 2008 Chevy, 3500HD, LMM Duramax Diesel, regular cab, long bed in blue or black. It would have to have cablights, and all the trimmings. 265/75-17 tires/aluminum wheels.

 

Here is where I depart from the ordinary RPO list.....

 

It would have front leaf springs, and a Dana 60 SFA with the kingpin knuckles that came on all Chevy Dana 60s, and not the junk ball joints that wear out at 30K miles like the furds, and Dodges use. It would also have the traditional Chevy '77-'91 K-30 front wheel bearings. Again not the cheapo junk unitized wheel bearings that the current Dodge, and furd trucks use.

 

It would have the New Venture Gear 5600 6 speed manual transmission, or the ZF S6-650 manual trans.

 

Bump up the LMM to 400RWHP/800RWTQ, and that would just about be my perfect truck.

 

Or, you could substitute the RC/LB for a EC/SB, but keep it as the 9900lb GVWR 3500HD.
