2500hd Crew Cab Chattering

Was wondering if anyone else has a chattering noise when hitting bumps. It almost sounds like a loose bracket or something along that line. It sounds like it is near the back of the truck. I though I had it figured out when I found that the E-Brake cable taps the gas tank making a very similar noise but not as loud. Secured the E-brake cable and noise is still there. I was also thinking it could be a loose shock but they are tight. anyone have any ideas?

If you still have the OEM shocks on your truck, they could be junk by now and can cause some chatter/wheel hop.

I have heard of loose bed bolts causing a rattle like this. Don't know, just trying to help.

2002 2500hd cc, 4x4, full box-

I have the same chattering (coming from the rear of the truck). I also thought is was the e-brake cable. Still havn't figued it out. Bought the truck new.

Checked everything under the truck. The one thing I'm thinking - it might be the tailgate. Try driving without the gate on. I will ty that today.

i have a rattle too..

i think its the ball hitch rattling around...

Check your pads on your overload leaf springs. They tend to fall off over time. I was missing a couple of mine and heard them rattling going over bumps. I picked up some large o-rings to slide over the springs and problem solved.

I noticed a loose exhaust pipe clamp just in front of one of the Cats. Causes a rattle at idol sometimes and driving. Not sure what to do. The clamp is seized up. I don't know if a new clamp would tighten things up. Weld might be the answer.
