Nnbs 6" Suspension Lift 35" Tires Still Rubbing

I installed a 6" suspension lift from Superlift on my 2007 silverado and I am having some rubbing issues in the back of front fender. I really do not want to do a body lift, can I install a 1.5" leveling kit from rough country? What would be the difference between that and everyone cranking torsion bars up to gain clearence on older trucks? I know that it will steepen my cv joints but what do you guys think? Thanks

How bad is the rubbing? It really shouldnt be THAT bad with the 6" lift. I dont know if i would spend more money on the leveling kit in addition to the lift. Maybe just try cranking the bars a bit? Both will alter cv angles and such but a few turns really wouldnt hurt. Just dont go crazy.

The problem is the 07 nnbs dont have torsion bars so I cant crank it a little. I only need .5" to 1" of lift.

dont crank on your tortion bars unless you want cv joint problems and broken pinion u joints

Are you using the stock wheels? What is your backspacing?

While this is generally true, you are making the issue too black and white possibly causing unnecessary panic. There is no way that putting a turn or 2 on the torsion bar is going to break u joints or cv joints. Putting way too many turns on it, yes, but if only done a little, there should not be any problems. While i dont really recommend it, there are tons of people (not just on this site) that have done this with no problems.

 

All of this is a non issue anyway since as the OP stated, his truck doesnt have any torsion bars.

Hey Bravo -My lift guy told me he can give me 2" with a leveling kit and 2" add a leafs . He ordered the stuff Monday-When it`s done I`ll post pics of the job. I figured this would be the way to go and now the truck won`t sag in the rear so much when I tow too.

What kind of leveling kit are you going to use?

Not sure but he told me its 2 1/2 inch and hes gonna mill some off-I will ask him all the details and let you know. I trust him enough to just let him do what he thinks is best and I didnt ask what kind.

I installed Rough Country's 2" lower strut mount extension and a 2" add-a-leaf last night. I had an alignment done this morning and it drives great. It is a little firmer then before but I like the feel better. Tire is no where near rubbing now! I will post some pics when I get a chance.
