$750 For A Flowmaster 40 Catback By Midas?

I am in the market to get a new catback exhaust for my 2004 Silverado Z71 w/ 5.3L. Midas gave me a quote for $750 and that included removal and installation from the cat back of a Flowmaster 40 series. I had the option of how I wanted the pipes to run out the back. This also included the tips. Does this price seem a little if not WAY yoo much? I have looked online and the kits don't run that much. The only good thing about Midas is that it will come with a warranty and I don't have a welder. At that price I am thinking it might be better to order the kit and bolt it on myself and use clamps instead of welding it.

I am in Maryland. Even the way the guy told me the quote it seemed like he was trying to figure out how much I was willing to pay rather than just a straight price. For $300 I would have gotten it on the spot.

Thats about right, a dos (Dual out Side) or dor flowmaster kit for your truck is about 560 american I think. I have a friend that manages a midas and he quoted me about 750 off the top of his head. Thats canadian but nowadays that like a 35 dollar exchange....

750, That dude is smoking some good Stuff. I am haveing mine redone again cause I got headers, and for exhaust from the headers back, reusing the cats, bending up the pipe and putting flanges on it so its removable, and chrome tips, $250. Oh and thats them taking off the manifolds and installing the headers too.

750 is insane. I just yesterday had a flowmaster 40 series and duals out the back with some polished and rolled stainless tips for just under 400. I say go somewhere else.

I think some of you guys are getting ripped off. Im a little different and just had a flowmaster 40 installed, but I only paid $150 at Meineke. I didnt have a dual out, but, I dont see that being another $250

I paid $400 for mine (all stainless, look in sig). Installed it in my driveway in about 2 hours. If I would have put my truck up on ramps, would have taken less time. Do it yourself and save some bucks.

We weren't even talking about a stainless steel setup which I think would be more. I am just going to buy the kit and do it myself. I know I can do it but I wanted to see what others have paid. Sometimes its worth the extra $ to have someone else do it. Not in this case. I will gladly save ~$400 to do it myself.

If they use road salt where you live consider something stainless. My Flowmaster kit lasted only 18 months before rusting through (in Maine). My stainless Magnaflow kit is now a year old and still looks as solid as the day I put it on.

$750 dollars is enough for 10 Flowmaster Exhaust systems.

Buy a single inlet/dual exit or just buy two mufflers and let an independent shop do the work.

My Flowmaster setup cost $90.
