I usually go for the Wagner brand.

May not be the absolute best.

But very good for the price.

Scott, Raybestos is our (CARQUEST) supplier and unless you are going for some of the really high end performance pads, I do not think you can do any better than Raybestos. Our pads are application formula specific meaning that the friction material is actually formulated for specific vehicles. We offer a good (Red), Better (Blue) and Best (Gold). I really like the Blue Ceramics (BCD) or Metallics (BMD)over the Gold. They may not last quite as long as the Gold series but they are smoother and quieter and offer good performance. I hate to sound like I am selling here because I am not. But if you do not have a CQ store, there is surely someone in your market selling Raybestos.

 

Wagner Thermoquiet pads are also really nice quiet pads and are proven. However, our independent testing has shown they simply are not known for their longevity.

I'm gonna try a set of the Carquest Blue Ceramics and let Y'all know what I think of them. But, from what I hear they are the cats azz.
