Damp With Gas

99 TAHOE 5.7. I PULLED THE PLUG OFF OF THE INJECTORS AND IT WAS DAMP WITH GAS. WHAT CAUSES THAT ? COULD IT BE THE FUEL PREASURE REGULATOR ? IS IT POSSIBLE THIS COULD CAUSE MY INTERMITANT STALLING AND P-0300 CODE ? ANY HELP WOULD BE GRAETLY APPRECIATED.

 

IS THAT WHERE THE REGULATOR IS, WHERE THE 2 METAL LINE GO DOWN INSIDE ?

I have seen this a couple of times. There is a new design injector unit assm. which is major improvement over the old design. Install it and your problem will be sloved plus you will get better throttle response, fuel mileage, and a smoother ilde. :D

The injectors leak internally, the gas will seep into the connector, you give it enough time and the gas will actually travel up thru the wiring and into other components... not good... but yah, replace them, blow the connector out to get rid of any gas...

COULD THAT BE PART OF THE STALLING AT IDLE OR LOW RPM'S PROBLEMS I DESCRIBED IN MY OTHER POSTS.

Yes it is possible but I can't garrentee that all your problems will be repaired, but I can assure you that it will fix your fuel leak issue and impove performace, fuel mileage and idle. Here are the updated part numbers for the improved injector unit for 5.7 v8 and v6's.

HEY THANKS FOR THE INFO. I CHANGED THE FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR PUT AC DELCO PLUGS INSTEAD OF THE BOSCH AND REPLACED THE IGNITION COIL AND IT STILL STALLS SOMETIMES. I HAVEN'T REALLY DRIVEN IT MUCH YET TO TELL FOR SURE.
