Alternator Problems

I have a small problem..... While attempting to remove my alternator from my 85 1 ton 454, the two wires (orange and black) pulled out of the plug and I don't know which goes where. This alternator is the 3 wire type, battery to post, one orange, one black. Which wire goes to what terminal on the alternator (position 1 or 2). Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!
