Lost Key

I am currently serving in Iraq. We use 2003 Chevy Dually's here on base. We have a few truck here that have lost keys. Of course someone in logistics takes the spare keys and can never find them when you need a replacement. We have a Tech II scan tool here and i have a blank key. I took the column down to where i can get to the switch. I can roll the switch and get it to crank. I put the blank key in the ignition. I tried to program the key but the Tech II says it will not communicate. It will communicate with everything else. I have looked on line and found a way to bypass the passlock system but since I dont have a key I have only 1 shot to check resistance and make them match before the vehicle locks it self out. (tamper mode).

I need help or info or something. I would hate to cannibalize a few truck and cost tax payers money because people cant find keys. :idiot:

Thank You from us at CSC Scania, Iraq

Hey craig,

welcome to the board and thanks for your service !! :smash:

thank you sir, hopefully we can share some info on these things to keep 'em running. it is amazing what you can come up with limited ressources like we have here. but the mission continues and so does the imagination to keep the vehicles running.
