Tire Pressures 2500hd Crewcab

Hello,

 

I don't seem to be getting a proper answer whoever i talk to. question is about tire pressures.

 

The standard tyres fitted to the 2500HD are 245/75 R16E Pressures are FT 50 psi and RR 80 psi.

 

When i picked up my (used) truck it had 265/75 R 16E Toyo tires.

 

What pressures should i run these at? same as standard tires or different due to size?

Go by the sidewall, not the sticker in the door. If you run them at 50-55 psi you'll be fine. Check to see if there is any abnormal wear typical of under/over-inflatedtires if you are in doubt once you set them. If you are planning on hauling a heavy load, you can then bump them up to whatever the sidewall says.

I run mine at 55 psi frt and 50 psi rear.. My truck normally only has a few hundred pounds in the bed plus the weight of the fiberglass cap, so the front is heavier than the back and that is why the fronts are aired up a little more.

 

When I tow/carry a heavy load then I bump the rears up to 65-70 psi

I have 265x70x17 on 8.5" wide Hummer wheels...I found that 65 front and 50 rear (unloaded) is a good combo. Tires seem to wear even across the tread and the ride is not too bad. I do 75 all around when towint the 5th wheel...
