Loosing Oil, Smells Like Leak But No Drips

I've lost about 1 quart since last oil change (about 4000 miles), I catch an occasional wiff of oil but I've gone underneath the truck, under the hood and can't find any signs of leakage. There is none on my driveway so I'm at a loss. Any ideas??

 

On a better note I got my newly powdercoated brush guard and nerf bars back from the powder coating place I took them to. Can't wait to install them this weekend.

Here is the GM guideline "All engines require oil to lubricate and protect the load bearing and internal moving parts from wear including cylinder walls, pistons and piston rings. When a piston moves down its cylinder, a thin film of oil is left on the cylinder wall. During the power stroke, part of this oil layer is consumed in the combustion process. As a result, varying rates of oil consumption are accepted as normal in all engines.The accepted rate of oil consumption for engines used in the vehicles referenced is 0.946 liter (1 qt) in 3200 km (2000 miles).

 

There is more to this bulliten but in simple terms 1 quart in 4000 miles is not at all excessive. The 1 quart in 2000 miles GM speaks of is under nicey nicey driving, towing and hard accel are reasons to burn more as are mechanical issues. Do yourself a favor though and change your oil @ 3000mi.
