2003 Sierra Interior Colors

After days of searching for an answer to a question related to some interior modifications I was planning on doing, I found an answer that I didn't expect regarding interior trim colors and color matching. Maybe this is useful to someone else too so I thought I'd post on it.

 

I have RPO codes 69D and 69I for interior trim on my 2003 Sierra 2500HD which corresponds to Very Dark Pewter. I understand from reading this forum that this was a new color in 2003. At least the name was it seems. After searching on the internet fairly extensively, I found this on Du Pont's website:

It lists the 2003 color codes and on page 39 it lists 642H as an interior trim/color code offered on the 2003 Sierra with exterior color of Black (41U RPO) which is my exterior color code. Now the thing is, I thought that 642H was a VERY old GM interior color going back maybe 25 years not something new in 2003. This also happens to correspond to Sem Classic Coat product #17163 conveniently named Very Dark Pewter which appears to be a perfect match to the 2003 69D/I interior.

 

Before I spray, does anyone else have any input on this or think this could be wrong?
