isnt the EGR Valve atop of a Valve cover -- black hose from EGR Valve to port in Intake Manifold ??

I think you're thinking of the PCV valve...

replacing the part is difficult enough,but it has to daig'd,please do yourself a favor and take it to your technician of choice,preferably at a dealer ,there MAYBE a campaign for the EGR valve ,and therefor free,if my memory is still sound,ok?

Need to know if it's a multi port fuel injection motor or tbi. Pull the engine cover and tell us if the air filter sits on top of the motor or better yet pop the hood and see if the air filter is right thier on top of the fan shroud.

I'm not sure if there is a campaign but I'm pretty sure there is an update for EGR pintle position code. You may need the pcm reflashed which would save you money on the part but you would need someone to do the reflash. Why are you replacing it? Maybe we can save you some money.
