Hard Starting.......

hey, i need you guys help. i just replaced my batt and im still having hard starts, but it is only when it sits longer then a few mins. ill try to explain

my s10 came out of the shop from getting a new intake gasket and the first turn the batt was competely dead(clicking)but after a few secs it started up). started to get that every start either a hard long start with clicking noises(u know the dead batt sound) or a few times it wouldnt even start without a jump. i put it on a charger over night, and then i just started to get hard starts(like it is trying to start but takes a few secs). i replaced the batt yesterday and still same thing. but something weired happened. i was at the store leaving, started it, and it started to stall and i notice the volts dropping halfway. gave it gas and it saved it, but once i let off the volts started to drop and wanted to stall but gas would save it. this went on a few mins. i shut it off one time and restarted it and got lucky and was on my way again. im still have hard starting issues but not like that. i just came back from autozone and he tested the bat and alternator and says everything is good. i did notice one thing, he put the wires on and asked me to rev it for about 15 secs, and halfway through i notice the volts drop halfway. i told him about this and he didnt know what that meant but just said everything tested good, that if i want to make sure take off the alternator and bring it in.

i dont know nothing about this all i know is how to remove the 3 screws and replace the alternator....but im guessing it just might be the alternator, with the volts dropping like that the few times i did. otherwise what can it be? right now when i start it the volts are half of what they are when it is running, i dont know if this is normal. ive never paid attention to this before. it is a 2001 s10 blazer 86k.
