37 Inch Nitto Mudd Grapplers Rubbing

Hi Guys,

 

I have a 2002 Chevy 2500HD with the 8.1L engine.

 

I just put on 20 inch rims with 37inch tires.

 

When I turn the steering wheel all the way to the right or left, the inside of the tires rub on some sort of anti-sway bar. Not sure what you would call this bar.

 

I was wondering if there were any simple solutions to prevent the tires from rubbing.

If that is the only issue, try a 1/4" spacer. You can get them on ebay.

 

Oh, it is called a sway bar. Tires this size are normally mounted on wheels with 4.5" backspacing. You probably have more than this. Can you find out what width and offset you have?

A 1/4in thick spacer does not seem like it would give enough space to prevent the tire to sway bar rub.

 

Are you instead refering to a wheel adapter?

 

I do not have any information about the width and offset of the rims. I can give you the tire size though.

if it barely rubs then a spacer will help. No not an adapter.

 

If you want your turn radius back, you need to get correct backspacing.

 

Have I read this wrong...you have 37's on an unlifted truck?

I have 37in tires with a 6inch lift.
