'04 Silverado 5.3 - Random Engine Shudder At Hot Idle, No Codes.

I have a 2004 Silverado Extended Cab 2wd with the 5.3 V8 - 46,000 miles. The engine has a random shudder in it when the engine is at operating temperature, the transmission is in gear, with my foot on brake (example - when sitting at a stop light).

Dealer checked and there aren't any codes stored. For good measure, they cleaned the fuel injectors per bulletin 03-06-04-030F, since they already had the truck in the shop.

The shudder is still there. Not a big deal, but is annoying.

Any other ideas? I know there's just not a lot to go on there, since there aren't any stored codes.

I've already changed brands of gas, and I ran a bottle of Techron through it as well, several weeks ago.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Your truck shouldnt even have an IAC valve, you should have an electric throttle plate, they are known for getting dirty - make sure thats cleaned out real good. Second make sure you have the newest updates to your ecm/pcm software (the dealer can program it), there are quite a few available for your truck. Third, the intake gaskets leak at lot on that truck - so much that GM redesigned the gaskets with a different rubber gasket material around the ports. The orignals and red and the new ones are green (you cant see it unless you take the intake off). The intake is simple to remove even though it doesnt look like it.

My truck has done this in a very minor fashion since it was new. I am now at 120,000 kms and it stills happens every now and again but I am not worrying too much until it gets worse.
