Steering Wheel Trim

Im wondering if anyone has had trouble with the paint chipping on the steering wheel trim, I have a 08 wt and was under the impresion that since the steering trim wasnt that shiny metallic paint that it was just dyed plastic... well it too is painted and where my thumb rides while steering the paint is rubbing off. this is my first new vehicle and I full well want to exploite my warranty but is this something that will be covered do you think? If anyone has had this expierience let me know how it worked out for you.

its coverd, id wait as long as u can stand till returning to dealer. therefore the next part will last that much longer
