04 Tahoe Coolant Leak

My 04 Tahoe, 5.3L with 42K miles is leaking coolant from what looks like the front of the engine. Dripping off the main crank pulley and off the belt.

 

I know waterpump gaskets and maybe the pump itself can let go just about anytime, but at 42K miles and less than 4 years? I mean come on Chevy, what's the deal here. Of all the things I thought might go wrong with the Tahoe - I did not expect this.

 

Hopefully it is just the pump gasket and nothing more serious.

My wife's 04 Yukon had the same issue. It started to leak a month after the warranty had expired. The truck only had 29k miles at the time. It was hard to see where the leak was from but it was leaking out of the weep hole. I ended up replacing the water pump myself.
