My son is changing the motor in his 1989 silvereado 4wd.he put in a carburated 350 and is not using any ao the sensors.the problem he has is he doesn't seem to be getting any power to the ignition switch.The only thing that works are the headlights.Can you give me any idea where to start looking for the problem.Where does the ignition get it's power?

Sounds like a wire to attached at the starter or fusable link blown on mine wires coming from starter to the igniton system. The wiring for the ignition power is up on the top of firewall running across under the hood will have fusable links and fuses in line with it, but also check to make sure you have a ground going to motor and from motor to body or battery to body, might just be a missing ground. Hope this helps some.
