Subwoofer Selection

Okay, got a '01, ECSB that I'm looking to add some bass to. I'm going with JL subs, but I'm not sure which one's to go with. I'm planning on raising the rear seat with some C4x7.25 steel channel that I "borrowed" from the job site. For those not familiar with the steel sizing, the channel is 4" high, with a 1.5" horizontal "leg" on the top and bottom. I'm going to punch a hole in the top and bottom to anchor the seat, and get some new hardware for the top connection to the seat. I would like to have the subs fire up, and hence the channel spacers so no one crushes the subs if they sit in the back.

Now, here is where my question comes in.

1. I'm leaning towards the new 13TW5 (thin sub) from JL. This would require some rework of my box, but will not need the channels to raise the seat.

2. The next option is the 12W6v2. These will require the channels so I can get the 7" mounting depth and some rework to the box.

3. The next option is the 12W3v3. These should fit in the box as is, I have about 6 3/4" mounting depth now, however, I will need to add something to raise the seat a little, maybe not 4", so the subs aren't damaged.

Anyone have an opinion on these options?

Why JL if I may ask? They're pretty good, but overpriced. I'd say go with the option that needs the least work, which seems like option 1, the shallow sub.

I've used JL in several of my past vehicles, and always liked their products. The price is the only thing that irks me about them though. I know opinions on speakers are like a-holes, in that everyone has one, just thought I'd get some feedback to see what others here thought. I still use the backseat occasionally, but it's maybe once a month, if that. Thanks for the input.

i have a jl w3v3 in my truck with a jl 500/1v2 amp and i must say that its loud but it doesnt hit very low... if you want more of the low go with the w6 its worth the work in my opinion. but if you dont care about overpowering lows then go with the shallowmount.
