4wd Lo Problem

I have a 2008 Sierra crew SLE2 Z71 6.0L - it is 1 week old with about 700 miles. the 4x4 high seems to work fine. i can shift it into 4wd low when in neutral and the light blinks for a second and then stays on steady after you hear a light clank. with the foot on the brake, when you put it back in drive, man does it really seem like it wants to go, but when you let off the brake and strt pushing the gas, it just revs up to about 3500 rpm before it goes anywhere, and it kind of kicks. you have to constantly rev it in high rpm's to get it going and it is not smooth motion at all. is this normal? the only other 4x4 i have owned did not behave like this at all. i thought maybe there has to be a load on the transmission??

your advice is appreciated!!

I know the noise is normal. The magnesium alloy asks like a megaphone, and depending on what and where you were using your 4WD- dry pavement, then it may be normal,
