Need Advice On Body Repair

Hey all I need some help with this rust issue. I've never done any sort of body work before but I think I have all the tools I need, welder, grinders, cut off tools etc. There are rust spots in a few places but the one that really worries me is the rust on the rocker. It's created a hole so I'm not sure how to go abouts fixing it. Also the area is contoured so I'm sure it's gonna take some skill to form the sheet metal around the area. I priced the repair at Maaco and they wanted $1500 which is totally out of my budget. I'm looking for a link to a tutorial on this sort of repair or any advice period. The truck is a 2000 GMC Sonoma. Also where would I be able to get an exact paint to match and what type of primers, fillers, clear coat would I need?
